Spontaneous fun in the Sun

On Sunday I went to Light and Life church in Truro (having had only 2 hours sleep which wasn't exactly ideal), it was an awesome service and I managed to give out all the Soteria magazines I was given. It was nice to be able to meet a load of new people, and also lot of old friends that I haven't seen in years. One of these old friends suggested that we went on a picnic in Malpas park so we all went to Tesco to get one item each to share when we got there.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had a fantastic time, there must have been at least 20 of us down there at one point, all relaxing and mucking around in the sun. The guys were playing rugby and cricket and the girls mainly chilled out in the sun. I must admit though, it was a bit weird being there, I hadn't been there for years and the cafe by the lake is where my Mum was born. Still I put that out of my mind and just concentrated on having a good time. One of the guys was sunbathing so one of the girls poured some bottled water on him which was quite funny. Being a guy however, he wouldn't take this lying down and of course, the retribution would have to be totally disproportionate to the crime. She poured a small amount on him while he was topless therefore he pored half the bottle of her whilst she was fully dressed and obviously she was absolutely soaked lol.
I was so exhausted when I got home it wasn't long before I was all snuggled up in bed and once I was asleep, I didn't wake up again for nearly 18 hours. That's what I call tired!

A Little of this, a Squidge of that

The last couple of weeks have been pretty uneventful, I've been having a bit of a blip with my health but that's not news, that's normal lol. I'm still not sleeping properly either which isn't helping matters, oh well c'est la vie! Nathan had a flat tyre this morning so he was panicking that he was going to be late for work so I was woken up an hour after falling asleep! Thankfully Superdaddy came and saved the day.
I've almost saved up enough on my surveys to get the digital camera I want, it'll be so nice to be able to take decent photos instead of having to rely on everyone else to take them and send them to me. I wonder what I'll save up for next, I gave up on the pony idea years ago ;)
I'm having lots of fun educating Bennet on how we do things over here and why we're so much better than the Yanks hehe. It's amazing how many things are different over here and how many Americans are completely oblivious to the fact. I am learning more and more how insular the culture is, most of the everyday "Average Joe's" have no idea how much their government, particularly under Bush, has bullied other countries, I wonder how they'd react if they knew? Anyway, enough politics otherwise I'll be here all day, ranting my head off.
That just about sums it up for me so I'll sign off for now.
Au Reservoir!

Oh and one last thing, in a couple of weeks Nathan and I will have been married for 3 years, how weird is that?! And sorry Tracey, no babies as yet.

Weddings, Weirdness and a Pink Dress

Well now, where to start? 2 of my good friends got married the other day, the weather was absolutely perfect. The bride of course looked absolutely stunning although I had the feeling she was going to need emergency makeup modification at some point! The groom looked very dashing in his fancy suit and walked around with a big dopey grin on his face. And of course what do we women do when faced with a wedding to go to? Go shopping! Contrary to what I have said in the past I actually bought a pink dress, weirder still is the fact that it suited me!
In the evening they had an "open mic" night and asked people to bring a party piece. My cousin roped me into doing one with him so I ended up singing with him accompanying me on the keyboard. First off as a joke song I sang the first verse of "Beauty and the Beast" in order to poke fun at the groom, plus it ties in with and old running joke between the 2 of us. Next up was the proper song, for that I sang "Accidentally in Love" by Counting Crows. We didn't have enough practise and I don't think it went too well, at least for my part but I'm told otherwise by other people.
Weirdly, I have been having particulary bad insomnia lately, I have it a lot of the time anyway but it rarely gets this bad or lasts for so long, luckily I have had my good friend Bennet to chat to until I can finally find my way to the land of nod.
Other than that there's not much to report, I seem to be spending a lot of time on eBay looking for various things, oh and I got vouchers through from an internet survey site I go on so I finally managed to get the MP3/MP4 player I've wanted for ages. It should have been over £70 and there's no way I could have afforded that without the survey stuff so I'm well chuffed with that. I'm up to Lords and Ladies on my discworld read-through so be not fooled by the glamour!
